    • Community Garden

    INTRODUCING THE SPACE COMMUNITY GARDENS!!

This year as a community and alongside our HAAS keiki we grew! We moved mulch mountains, dug holes and planted 10 fruit trees for our future community. With the help of Men of Pa’a, we built beautiful garden beds, filling them with Kalo, Turmeric, Greens, Pumpkins, Sweet Potatoes, and Veggies galore! We even made an amazing Stone Soup feast from our the food we planted and harvested. Want to get involved? Come learn growing tips, pest control, garden design and join in the fun of a gardening community.

    Gleaning Project

REGISTER YOUR TREE

DO YOU HAVE A FRUIT TREE THAT YOU
CANNOT HARVEST 100%?

Thousands of pounds of fruit rot off the tree in Puna every year. We want to rescue this vital food source and distribute it to local community members and food baskets. Register your tree with us, and when it’s time to harvest, we’ll be there. You keep 30%, we offer 30% to our volunteers and the remaining 40% gets distributed to needy members of the community.

VOLUNTEER FOR HARVESTS

HELP REDUCE FOOD WASTE AND CONNECT
WITH YOUR COMMUNITY!

Sign up to volunteer and we will contact you when a harvest comes up. Volunteers take home 30% of the harvest!

    • Food Distribution

    Hungry?

    Overwhelmed with Fruit?

We commissioned local artist Lillie Ream to build and paint the SPACE Community Fruit Stand. It is a resource for the whole community to come together and share the abundance that this ‘aina affords us. It is located at SPACE, just under our eaves. If you donate, tag us on instagram or on fb so we can spread the word!

Have fruit? Give fruit. Need fruit? Take fruit.

    Micro Farm Tours

Learn from the experts in your neighborhood!

In 2021 we organized an educational micro farm tour in Seaview. Participants visited 6 amazing micro farmers in the neighborhood who opened their farms to us, sharing their amazing skills and techniques for success in this climate. From bananas to papayas, pineapples to vanilla, collard greens to peppers, and even chicken and rabbits, we learned so much about the hyper local food being grown in our community. Our second run of tours begins October 25 2022. Register here to attend!

GET IN TOUCH AND GET INVOLVED!
